Living Tipi's

The Huichol Indians

The Huichol Indians of Mexico are an indigeneous tribe, still living by their ancient traditions. They live in harmony with the Earth, honoring life through prayer, meditation, and ceremony.

Their intricate artwork represents their cosmology. It is sold in the artisan markets throughout Mexico. They make colorful string art, beaded jewelry and other items, and have wonderfully colorful clothing.

We work closely with their village to create these beautiful tipi's. They make the designs, with the same look as their other artwork. The local school children hand-paint the tipi's, with the intricate designs. This brings money to their community, giving work to the people.
